We opened this week's sculpture class by introducing ourselves and telling the class what our favorite thing to make is. Some of the favorites included cats, owls, walrus, ballerinas, and fire trucks. Then we showed the class the days material.
What do you think this is, clay, mud, sand? Its newspaper paper pulp for paper mache! Here’s what some students made:
“I’m making a famous humongous ball... I'm making it for my cat”
“I made a big mountain”
Arianna used the paper mache to draw a ballerina leaping through the air under a shining sun
Grace molded a figure around a plastic bottle. He has a cape and a pet dog!
We had a great time squishing and molding the paper. See you Friday!
